so, neither natalie nor amanda made it to the open house. i shouldn't have told either of them that the other one was coming.
MAYBE natalie and amanda are actually alter egos of each other!! and that's why they can never be at the same place at the same time, because they're the same person! except amanda's really tall....hmmm....maybe by the end of the semester i'll have to be carried out in a straight jacket.

lol i have now been sick for exactly a week.

******Further entries are friend-locked, add me as a friend if I know you**********

urgh. my cough sounds very icky. i really hope it's warm tomorrow.

ok, so amanda was supposed to come to the Ring open house on tuesday, and stay for most of it. so then i told natalie she should come on tuesday also, and she said ok. and then i got really excited because i figured they'd finally be meeting each other. but THEN!!! (and who didn't see this coming? ME) natalie caught my cold, so i'm not sure if she'll be well enough to go on tuesday (lol i'm not even sure if i will, but i signed up so meh), and THEN amanda said that she probably won't be able to make it either, and if she does it'll only be for setup, but probably not even that.

what's going ON?! *screams in agony*

i sleepy :)

ahh!! i just saw the worst commercial ever!! it was advertising the Star Wars original trilogy on individual dvds, and it was this family and they were saying things that made them seem like fans of the movies, and at the very end, the little girl goes, "I would love to have a pet Wookie." and they showed a picture of Chewbacca. !!!!!!! it was so terrible!!! argh, that makes me so angry!!! RAR!!!!! that is NOT something anyone should say. it's like saying "I would love to have a pet hobbit" or "I would love to have a pet canadian" or something. *hates that little girl and whoever made that commercial and allowed it to air*
EDIT: the little girl was about 11

i'm even sicker today than i was yesterday T_T my throat hurts a lot and i have a headache behind my ears and my nose keeps getting stuffy and i'm cranky *pouts*

there's an irritating guy on Food Network on this epiosode of secret life of, and he keeps overacting and pretending to steal food from the factories he went to, and making food wrong on purpose. it's very frustrating. he just smelled some lemon rind and said it was like perfume, then when the cook guy looked away, he rubbed the lemon rind on his neck and wrists. then he put it into soup. grrrr. i like the show 'Unwrapped' better.

it's a bird--no, it's a plane--no it's---Oh, hi Clark.

Superman Returns was AMAZING! i wanted to bounce all the way to the car after the movie, but there were too many people around. but WOW was it exciting. the music just made everyone's nerves tingle. that guy who played superman did a reeeeally good job--he was basically copying christopher reeve's interpretation of the character, but he did an amazing job at it! the only thing i didn't like was the actress who played lois lane, because she was too girly and didn't act enough like the one from the original movies--and she was quite obviously trying to imitate her, so that just made it worse. and they made jimmie all strange and feminine. but the movie was just incredible in spite of all my complaining :D. it was hilarious and exciting and made me go *WHEE HAPPY HEART BUBBLES!!!* the whole time. lex luther was awesome too :D:D:D
i want to see it again. and then a third time in an Imax theater :D:D:D

i think it would be really awesome to have a Bug (the car), just so that i could say i was buggering off whenever i turned the car off :D:D

tomorrow we leave for ohio to pick up our grandparents (not my dad tho), and we'll be back on friday afternoon.

so it turns out that the people at lowe's never ordered my carpet T_T but we went there today and they fixed it and now it'll be here in a week.

still haven't found the spider in my room...

i was up until it got light outside because the book i started yesterday was so absorbing--it started off slow, but it's SO GOOD! The SHip of Magic by Robin Hobb. I've been thinking about buying it for like, months, because i always see the second and third books in the series and they look so good, but i never found the first one. and now i have it and i can't put it down :D

*ish happy happy happy*

there is a spider in my room somewhere. i'm not sure where, but i know it's in there, because i saw it crawling over my quilt while i was reading in bed. i slapped at it with a magazine, but i never found any dead spider parts. strangely enough, i haven't had much trouble getting to sleep. i think i'm more bothered by ants. i have had several dreams with evil ants in them, but no dreams about spiders.
it was a very black fuzzy spider tho.

yesterday i got to follow around uncle Waheed in his office, and i get to watch him for a few weeks (as something to do and to put in my resume). so today i went to the hospital and i got to see a bunch of operations. the first one i went to, he was worried i might faint so he made me stand against a wall the whole time, but the second-last one he did, one of the nurses got me 2 of those little steps to stand on at one end of the patient and i got to see a spinal thingy--i don't remember what the first part of it was called but the second part was a fusion. i also got to see the person's spine! because uncle waheed took out 2 of the vertebrae (since they were pinching a nerve), and then called me over to look at the spine. it was sort of creamy-white and fat.

Superman Returns at 10 tonight!!! The only reasons i'm so excited is bcos Bryan Singer directed it, and bcos i love superman because of christopher reeve's acting. there was this article in the newspaper today abt it, and it kinda made the movie sound bad, but hey, it's bryan singer so *shrugs*. (now that i've seen what happens when he DOESNT direct XMen :D)

i read The Decoy Princess by Dawn Cook yesterday (started and finished) and it was SUCH a good book. Dawn Cook also wrote the 'Truth' series which i own, but i think i liked this book better. It was so funny at times that i was laughing out loud--meaning it wasn't standard humor but original having-to-do-with-the-story humor. like the part where the main character (the princess) mentions a block of prison cells that she once played 'house' in, and how the soldiers still tease the guard who she made be her 'husband'. lololotr. it had a fascinating plot that you find out about near the middle/end.

KHII still isn't very exciting...not sure why, because the first game would not let go of me, and haunted my dreams and everything. but this one is just like...well, here i am, so why not play the game? bleh.
:)

omg there's finally an option to switch back to plain text mode! just when i'd gotten used to this one *grumble*

gah so much has happened!!!
but first, AMA in a cut bcos i have so much to say abt it!!!!!!

So me and my mom drove down to ohio on thursday (of last week) so that Natalie and Ian would have a shorter drive from Kentucky to pick me up. They got to my grandparents' house friday morning and then we took turns driving to Richmond, VA until 11:30pm when we got there. Breakfast took a little longer than i liked, because they decided to eat at a restaurant in case there wasn't food at the convention, since Ian needs sugar or bad things will happen. But i had the BEST EVER waffles with strawberries and caramel and whipped cream and syrup and sugar. Natalie had to finish half of it for me tho lol. So, then we went and i got a pre-registered badge and they bought ones just for Saturday, and then we began our wandering. We got to see the AMVs, but they saved the comedy ones for the end---altho it was worth the wait, bcos they were HILARIOUS. I grabbed an extra list so i could remember the names, but i think i left it in virginia or kentucky... Oh, and we all forgot to bring cameras but Ian had a nice camera phone for emergencies so it was kinda ok.

Anyway, my favorite part was watching the cosplay! It was a lot of fun, and i think the best part was the interaction between tech crew and the guy who was announcing everything. Tech crew had a camera and a projector, so they could project everything onto a screen behind the stage, but they also typed up things to project. Here's some of the funny ones i remember:

Announcer guy: *glances suspiciously at screen behind him* I'm always afraid they're gonna say something about me when i'm not looking. *glances back again*
Screen: You smell.
Audience: *explodes*
Announcer guy: *smells self* Well...you try standing under all these hot lights in a three-piece!
Tech crew: *turns everything off*
XDXDXDXD

Then someone from tech crew says, "I wonder who would win in a fight between Darth Vader and a monkey"
And then at some point, they started playing this dance music and the screen said, "Dance, Monkey Boy!" and the audience exploded again and when they started turning the music off, they got upset so tech crew turned it on again, but the announcer guy didn't dance.

Then, there was a group of girls cosplaying as these cats, i didn't kno what it was from tho, and they went off the stage on the opposite side from the announcer guy, and when he came back on he kept walking after them XD and when the audience started laughing, he said "well, wouldn't you?" lololotr.

The screen also said something like, "try shaving off that beard, hippie" to the announcer guy :D I think he may have been a character too, he looked like an amish guy with a flatter hat and a beard/goatee. Not sure who he was.

There was also a musical number with people from final fantasy 7!!! Much roflols. Sephiroth kept forgetting he was a bad guy and started singing and dancing :D:D

I wanted to stay for the entire thing---the intermission and afterwards when they announced the winners, but natalie said the speakers were too loud and they were starting to bother ian too (i was like, it'll get better! stay! stay!) but then the actual cosplaying finished so we left. And then natalie said that we should have taken a picture with the person who cosplayed Vincent, and i was like, YES! WE MUST! It was this girl who looked JUST like him and she had the best costume ever, but we had to go back in to find 'him', and then natalie suggested we just forget about it, but then i said i'd cry myself to sleep for days if we didn't take a picture with 'him'. So eventually we found her and she looked kinda worn out but she let us take a picture with her :D:D <3<3<3 sparkly floating hearts. Ian has it on her phone. We were talking it over later and we were like, "What we said: Can we please please please take a picture with you? What she heard: PICTURE! PICTURE!" since she looked tired and didn't say much.

i can't remember what else we saw, besides the artists and authors stuff, but there were many many many venders there. i didn't buy as much as i'd planned to since everyhting was so expensive, but i did buy a fruits basket cellphone charm, and a Momiji (sp?) bunny, a wall scroll of alucard in all his vampiric glory (oh so pretty), a little badge that says 'pirates', mini handcuffs, a dragon necklace with some chainmail on it, and the 7th hellsing manga.
We got absolutely no free stuff, which was very disappointing because the pre-registration thing was $30, and to pay for saturday was $25. And a lot of the cool things to see were on Friday, which was weird. But it was a lot of fun. We'll have to find a bigger/better one to go to next time tho :D

Then we drove to kentucky, and i stayed at natalie's house for 2 nights and the second day me and Ian drove back to saginaw, and then she drove to detroit for the week.

My bedroom has new paint! yay! The roof is light blue and the walls are aqua, and when the carpet gets here it'll be purple. Sigh, but the room itself is all messed up because of the construction: the one window i have is blocked by a terrible view of the roof of part of the extension, and the rest of it is blocked by trees, so i can't see the sunset (or the sun or any light at all) anymore. Plus the irritatingly large closet blocks access to the window as well. And i'll need to buy a new computer table since i don't have anywhere to put it because of the closet and window. *more grumbling*

********EDIT******* Bollywood Party Reloaded is on Saturday instead of Friday, since we're driving our grandparents down on friday. Otherwise it'll have to be some other week, after Appna and everything...so if there are any major conflicts, let me know. ********EDIT********
Bollywood Party on friday!!! I feel like we need to give it a title, like Bollywood Party Reload or something :D:D. It starts at 4:30pm friday, and finishes around 11am or 12 on saturday. Bring sleeping bags! We're planning on watching Bend it Like Beckam, Kal Ho Na Ho, Where's the Party, Yaar? and something else that i can't remember, and Aladdin!! :D:D There shall be kettle corn, cookie dough, tollhouse cookies, and other snacks. perhaps spicy cheetos.

Fatima has the cutest little kitten ever!!! She's white with orange stripes and they named her Simba O.o. She was so hyper, and everyone kept wanting to hold her instead of dancing :D. I was happy because at the end of the practice when people were leaving, she fell asleep in my lap while lying on her back! It was adorable. *wishes she wasn't allergic to cats* Waqas says she should be named garfield. But that's a boy name too. She likes to play around by clawing and biting! Like me! lol well, sometimes. Waqas is bored. But i'm not because i'm on a rambling roll. *meekly apologises to those who read all of this*

Superman on tuesday!!! We need to buy advance tickets because it's playing at 10pm Tuesday (the 27th). Fashion Square, i believe? *must remind parents*

Oops! almost forgot, i FINALLY have Kingdom Hearts II!!!!!! ISH HAPPY! It had the longest introduction tho. And i kinda feel like i enjoyed the first game better...but then i've only been to 2 worlds so far (beauty and the beast and mulan).

*abruptly stops rambling.*

too much to say, not enough attention span...

tomorrow me and my mom are driving to ohio at like noon, and visiting my uncle bcos they're all moving to houston, and then early friday morning (9am?) natalie and ian are going to arrive (not all the way from kentucky, they're spending the night somewhere 2 hrs away) and we're going to drive to richmond for the amine convention!!! YAY!! only downside is that i don't get to see elizabeth while we're in ohio. friday my dad and brother are going to ohio as well. then sunday i'm going back to kentucky with ian and natalie, spending the night at nali's, and ian's driving me to saginaw on monday since she's going to detroit anyway.

funny story from mr. miller's party. u're gonna love this.

So me and waqas wanted to go fishing and we took our rod and mr miller's tackle and the boat with an anchor and rowed into the lake. then waqas took the anchor and dropped it into the water (which i didn't think was actually necessary) and when he reached to pull it back in, he grabbed a rope and pulled up an empty end! so we concluded that the anchor hadn't actually been attached to anything and we'd just lost it. so we started fishing, and after like an hour i was getting hungry and threatening to eat waqas, and we started to row into shore...and row...and row--but we couldn 't get any closer! and there was this strong wind and we could only go sideways and backwards, but not against the wind so we figured the waters were against us and didn't want to pull us in. so 15 minutes of rowing later, we called to Cam to come help us since he was in hearing range, and he called to this other girl whose name i don't know who had just been swimming, but she didn't want to get back in the water, so me and waqas kept trying for like another 15 minutes, and finally the girl and cam got into another boat and bicycled over, and they got to the front of the boat and the girl was looking at something, and she said we had an anchor, and we were like, no, it wasn't attached to the end of the rope, but she kept pulling on the end of the rope she'd found, and lo and behold--there was the anchor!! and we realised there were two ropes, and the rope for the anchor wasn't visible from inside the boat, and we felt really silly. but only we could have done that :D XD and we were laughing too hard to paddle on our way back (yes, we managed to row back this time) and i didn't eat waqas and instead ate cheese in a toasted bun and i was happy to be on land (yes, i did the whole holding my hands up to god and crying 'laaand!' piteously). so isn't that the best story ever?! i think it would be funnier hearing it in person tho instead of all written out and poetical.

and some other stuff happened. oh yeah, i get to take this medicine that makes u sleppy and dizzy bcos one week ago i had my wisdom teeth pulled and no it wasn't painful bcos i was unconcious, but i got to watch the needle go into my hand. it was a lot less painful than the numbing shots they put in ur gums (which i don't think they did). it was fun when i had to take 3 kinds of pills, bcos i took them one right after the other and felt like a hypochondriac :D. now 2 of them are finished so i only have to take the yucky one and tylenol. and i have to chew carefully bcos of the stitches (meaning lots of cake at the graduation parties).

oh yeah, i've been to 6 graduation parties so far: yasmin, samir, angela, diyan, shavein, and sam prime's. sam's was today. i read the entire time from frisbee to fuzzy's to his house :D so i definitely had fun. the book had just gotten interesting. it's one i'm re-reading.
i've already finished 2 of the 4 new books i bought on monday T_T. i need more self-control.

k, now i need to go finish packing. i'm taking my black velvety cloak :D just bcos i have it.

omg me and samantha spent the afternoon with ainslee and her baby, and the baby is the most adorable little thing in the world!!!! she's 2 months old and she's soooo tiny and she has the sweetest little voice when she cries and makes little noises, and she's so squirmy and cute i can't take it! she really looks like ainslee, but since i don't really remember what mike looks like i can't compare very well. ainslee says when the baby (Micayel? *shrugs* that's how it's pronounced anyway) is happy she looks like ainslee and when she's angry she looks like mike :D. she has ainslee hair tho. and she's really pale and her eyes (at the moment) are really dark shiny blue, they almost look black. she slept almost the whole time tho :( but we got to hold her and she's just sooooo adorable. me and samantha both really missed her when we had to leave. she's our little jedi ^_^ darn it now i miss her again. :'(
oh, and the art fair was fun too :D

weeelll.....me and my mom are back from ohio. :) more on that later. more pressing is the fact that i saw X3 on friday. it was awesome seeing samantha again, and the movie got off to a great start....but right now i would like to pretend that movie never existed. T_T plus there was that one terrible scene after which i had trouble not crying, which just made me angry and that didn't help. i was planning on putting a long list of complaints in a cut to help prevent spoilers for anyone who still hasn't seen it, but i don't have the energy (and attention span) right now. heheheh...so i'll just say a few non-spoilers: i think it was a bad choice of plot for the last installment in the movies (not counting the planned wolverine spin-off), there was very little character development (like, here's a character, but we're not going to tell u their name or anything, and oh here's some fighting), i didn't enjoy it after the first 15 minutes (which were actually pretty awesome), and it just didn't measure up to the first two. like, X2 was an awesome sequel, but X3 is like the second and third Matrix movies... only worse somehow.
so i'm just gonna pretend they're still working on X3 and a better version will come along soon and erase the bad memories from the first one. perhaps i'll start reading the comics ;)

ohio was a lot of fun. it felt like we were there for a really long time...i think it's because usually when we go, it's with my dad and brother, and abu always drags us off to some mall so we spend very little time at my grandparent's apartment, but this time i had lots of time to talk to my grandfather friday night, and then saturday afternoon when i woke up we went to see my uncle, who's moving to Houston in a few weeks. my cousins seem to grow more energetic each time i see them, but that's ok because they also get sweeter each time. ^_^ the youngest one, Amina, was very clingy, and kept pushing away whoever was sitting next to me so she could sit there lololotr. when we had to leave, all three of them came with us to spend the night at our grandparents' apartment, and we watched Rodger's & Hammerstein's Cinderella, and then i told them a story bcos they still weren't sleepy. then i actually fell asleep when they did, which was 11pm! but as a consequence, i woke up at 4am and couldn't get back to sleep until 10:30. Amina woke up at 5:30 and kept smiling at me while she tried to go back to sleep, and then i made her color in my star wars coloring book :D she colored a picture of darth vader for me *warm fuzzies* and she signed her name on it, but for some reason she wrote her letters from right to left instead of left to right. i also have a colored darth vader picture by Ayesha, who colored a Queen Amidala for herself, and one colored by Fatima of a bunch of Jedi.
We decided that none of us are going to get married and we're all going to life in a huge house when we grow up and we'll have lots and lots of cats. Fatima had some cool names stored up for them.

we brought a bunch of boxes with my grandparent's stuff in them bcos they're moving back to Pakistan this summer and first they're going to stay with us for a while.
oh i almost forgot, me and my parents are now US citizens :) and so is my grandfather.
parry two, lunge two!
Anyone going to see it who would like to see it with me and waqas? i'm thinking of seeing one of the 4-5pm shows, since me and my mom are driving to ohio for the weekend friday night.
there was going to be a 7-minute preview on FX last night, but i restrained myself because i didn't want to spoil the movie *is proud of self*

OMG! AND AND AND i get to go to an anime convention in june!!! YAY! It's Anime Mid-Atlantic and it's in Richmond VA, and Natalie and Ian (pronounced 'yan' because she's chinese) are going to drive to ohio to get me because my parents were willing to go there that weekend so it would be easier for Ian to drive from Kentucky to me to Virginia, and then we'll probably stay at one of the hotels that gives discounts for the convention and there's going to be lots of vendors and AMV contests and other stuff that they do at conventions....and none of us have ever been to one so IT WILL BE EXCITING!!!!! and then afterwards they'll drop me back off in ohio and i'll get to see Elizabeth at some point too!!!! :D YAY!!!!
http://www.animemidatlantic.com/ <-- there's the website!!

grrr my update journal thing seems to be stuck in the "rich text" mode. i just want the simple version!

yesterday was the cultural festival thing, probably better known as 'the fashion show' because that's what the pakistani/indian/asian ppl did. it was in frankunmuth at zehnders, and me, mariam, fatima, zehra and afroze had to read this cheesy poem at the beginning. it was so cheesy i didn't want to do it. neither did ahmed and he got out of doing it and afroze read his stanza instead. *glares* it was strange speaking into that microphone, because i wanted to hear what i sounded like and i couldn't tell if i was too close, because the speakers were on either side of the stage and some people sounded too loud if they were too close to it. it was very distracting reading something and trying to listen to myself at the same time :D
we missed all the performances between the poem and the fashion show :( i really wanted to hear the doctor with the flute, because he was playing POTO music while everyone was still getting to the meeting; he was near our table and when he finished he saw us watching and i said that it was awesome, and he said we looked nice, and then he came to the table so we could hear him better and we talked a little about POTO and then he left. so i was pretty excited about hearing his performance. we also missed some dancers, but there was plenty of cool dancing at the end--there was a group from this jazz thing, and 2 swind dancers (not that great but it was cute), and then there were mexican dances which were really cool, and some singers who were really good so the end of it all was fun.

monday morning we get to go to detroit again but we have to be there at 8am!!!! :-O which means i have to wake up at like, 5am (or not go to sleep at all). ***EDIT: We're leaving today and spending the night there instead of waking up at that ungodly hour. :)
i saw this really cute anime movie last night on TCM called Whisper of the Heart. it was just like reading a book :D it was a really good movie, but i was kinda shocked when it ended because i was expecting a lot more story out of it. and i missed the first 3 minutes, which left me confused for much of the movie because they kept referring to something that happened then. but it was still a good movie :) *hearts TCM*
i can't find any showtimes for X3 nearby .....??? i looked at the release date and every day for the week after it, but it's just not playing. maybe it'll show up later...i think we'll need advance tickets?

parry 2, attack 2. :D

all the windows in the family room and the kitchen are now gone, and the big spaces are covered with white sheet things. waqas wanted to rip a hole in one of them, i said it would be stupid, he was like, "no, after the builders leave." my response was "why do you have to be stupid at all?" he had no reply to that :D
all the sofas are also pushed into one corner and the tv and its various accessories are all unplugged and in the living room where they are of no use to anyone. lol. my dad's currently trying to find a 46-foot cable cord so i can connect the tv in the guest room to the cable outlet thing in my bedroom because the outlet thing in the guestroom doesn't work. my brother made clam chowder with shrimp today. he was pretty excited.

the Appna MI meeting thing was fun. On the way there my dad told me that i had to get my friends to applaud at certain parts of his speech so that the rest of the audience would also start clapping. the 'cues' were after he said "promise fulfilled," which he did 3 times, and it was a heady feeling to start the applause, because he kinda paused and looked up and there was pure silence until i started clapping and then mariam did and then our table did and then everyone else did, and the second time he said it our table started clapping first too and by the third time there were some doctors at the front of the hall who said "promise fulfilled!" along with him :D:D it was kinda strange to hear him saying the speech bcos i typed it up for him after each revision and fixed some of the grammar and stuff so i knew what he was going to say. then after his speech there were some boring ones with candidates running for the big Appna, and then we got to eat and THEN the comedian came, and the little boys (little being 15 and under) were getting really excited and they each got like, 3 autographs from him and pictures with him and stuff. i didnt think he was all that great, but that may be because i was comparing him to Mitch Hedberg...or it may just be because he wasn't that great. his performance started off slow, but it was actually pretty funny later on, unlike his CD which made me laugh like 3 times during all of its 15 tracks. i found out that he makes $4000 for each performance, and he does 3 a week :-O the fact that he used to be a lawyer may have something to do with that. the food was really good, as was the ras malai...i want some more. my mom had rented a room for the day because we got there around 4 and the thing didn't start until 6, and they had to do setup stuff so me, waqas, and our grandparents stayed in the room until then. after the comedian left, some of us went back to the room and i made 2 french braids in fatima's hair; she told me to leave the ends of the hair open and just tie it off at the end of the french braids, and she had her bangs out of the braids too and it looked really cute on her ^_^. everyone got some cool free stuff from the medical reps too, especially the younger girls and waqas's friends. we gave a huge handful of pens to my grandmother who for some reason reeeeally likes pens.

it's cold today. I'm re-reading the rhapsody series (aka The Symphony of Ages) by Elizabeth Haydon. the first book took like half a week to finish :D and they get longer. the first time i read them i hated Ashe, but the second time reading it i REALLY hate Ashe. there's just so many things abt him that make him a huge jerk. Achmed is so much better. i hope Ms Haydon fixes that problem in her next book THE ASSASSIN KING! I CAN"T WAIT RAR! i heard the release date is january of next year T_T there's an excerpt at her website at the forums in case anyone's interested :D http://dnn.thecauldron.org/Forums/tabid/54/forumid/6/postid/87/view/topic/Default.aspx

i love this comic!! http://ctrlaltdel-online.com/comic.php?d=20060513

i have the word 'escaflown' stuck in my head (sp?)

i wish i had an internet connection in my room. or well, the guest room now because they've taken out the windows in my bedroom. but the guest room doesn't even have a cable connection, so my lurvely tv is in there but i can only watch movies on it. working on the original trilogy at the moment :) I dislike not going online for a long time and then going to my lj friends page and finding a whole bunch of entries, because then i have to go to the beginning and read all of them. because lj makes you obsessive like that.

And now....FUN WITH CUTS!

OH And the author of Crown Duel, which is one of the awesome books i reread recently, has a yahoo group and she answers questions abt the books on it, and she has a blog AND a live journal AND an lj community, athaneral, where she posts chapters of stories about people from Crown Duel because she can't get them published. this is SO EXCITING!

Urm...Tomorrow my grandparents are coming over and saturday we're going to this Michigan Appna thing (pakistani doctors meeting) which my dad is president of so i get to type things for him and my mom because they take too long and i get impatient. lololotr. There's going to be a comedian and someone with a weird name and i'm not sure what they're going to do. perhaps it's a singer. the food sounds kinda good. there are only 2 desserts tho (i also typed up the menu).

Yesterday (or wednesday since it's after midnight) it RAINED!!!!! YAY!!! I was getting impatient because it was such a long drive to SASA (picking up waqas for frisbee) and i was afraid the rain would stop. But it didn't! And after getting waqas, i got to park the car in the lot and there was this HUGE area that was one BIG PUDDLE! I tried to get waqas to run around too but he locked his car door. *grumblegrumble* It wasn't raining at frisbee, and there was a really warm puddle there. My sneakers are still pretty wet tho :( Makes it icky because my socks are dry when i put them on and then they come out wet in a only a few places.

The electricity went out for a couple of hours today, right as i walked into the kitchen to start making breakfast. i was 2 steps in and i saw the time panel on the oven flicker and then disappear. So no breakfast until 5:30 :D And also no hair-washing until tomorrow, because i don't like using my brother's shower and there's no computer in the guest room on which to play loud music while showering, and in my room the windows are covered with boards. After the electricity came back, the charter cable and internet boxes stopped working for this area. but that's back too, obviously.

So, what are our plans for X3???? Because we need to have plans. It comes out on the 26th, which gives us *checks calendar* TWO WEEKS! to come up with a plan of action. This is serious guys--what time are we seeing it, and do we need to buy advanced tickets??!? I wish they'd stop showing so many different previews because i feel like i've already seen too many spoilers for the movie. Like, WHAT IS LOGAN DOING WITH GENE?!?!? and now filler so that no one accidentally sees this bit lalala filler filler filler lalala filler filler filler lalalalalalalalala laaaaaaaaa bleh. i could definitely have waited for the movie to find that out. And so much other stuff is in the previews that it's threatening to make me less eager to see the movie! But of course i'm not any less eager. So, what time are we seeing this??????

i find it funny that dani seems to think that if someone is hit by a meteorite, they'll end up in a coma instead of just dying. unless of course i'm mistaken and meteorites aren't fatal.

i thought of this insult last night when i was thinking of fantasy books: I hope your edges go blunt and your shine rusts! :D See, it's a sword reference except u can say it to people like a metaphor. *giggles*

still need to get to b&n. it's so difficult to wake up before 4pm and then get dressed and eat a quick breakfast and then stop reading or watching tv and actually leave the house. i wish it was a 3 minute walk away like borders was in ann arbor. i'm going to try to wake up really early tomorrow tho bcos i have to wake up reeeeally early (or just not go to sleep) on monday bcos we have to go to detroit. we need to be there at like, 1 or 2pm, but my dad feels we need to leave at 6am in case we get lost. *¿*
The construction in the house is progressing. there are now walls up, and stairs to the new basement, and soon they're gonna start breaking walls between the new part and the old part of the house, so my mom had to pack up a bunch of decorative items. lol. i'm hoping to get a window seat in my room *eyesclosedfingerscrossed* bcos i can't get a balcony.

how would you pronounce this: euan euan eu-oi-oi-oi? it's something bacchus says in Prince Caspian (narnia book). I want to go to narnia T_T :'(( T.T

waqas has an AP (bio?) exam monday and afterwards apparently they're all seeing a movie. which means i'll probably tag along too. i hope they see Ice Age 2 or V for Vendetta bcos i reeeally want to see those again.

and we're going to new york for july 4th! if all goes well. *needs to buy tickets for POTO*

(after parry 4) walking through the door that has no name, clearing move! fwa! teehee.

there are so many things about this review that bother me:

"chris carlisle (ghost1990@hotmail.com), a paintball player, August 22, 2005, 5 out of 5 stars
absolutly awesome
this book is 1 of the best i have ever read and that sayen something considering that at age 15 i have a collage reading level and have read the most books out of every person in my high school
Also recommended: artemis fowl series and the harry potter series"

that's a review from bn.com for a book by L. A. Meyer. lol, in case anyone was wondering, i like to 'research' books before buying them, like, by seeing what else reviewers of a book have read, or what reviewers of a book i already like recommend. its fun, except when i find reviews like this one, and then i just get irritated.

oh yeah, any suggestions for good books to read?? preferably fantasy ones (well, exclusively fantasy ones). i finished re-reading my third fantasy book and now i'm on the third narnia book...so that b&n trip may be happening soon :) (the ones i re-read were Green Rider & First Fider's Call by Kirsten Britain, who is BRILLIANT, and Crown Duel by Sherwood Smith--the only one i've read by her, but that may change; and yes, i recommend those to everyone)

now time to go to bed before my parents wake up. heheheh ^^;;

So i'm in saginaw and have been since sunday. I also lost a day between monday and wednesday somehow. (i misplaced some time once...it's always in the last place you expect)
I saw the talent show today!!! It was HILARIOUS! My brother is Waqisha! (however u'd spell it) MUCH LOLOLOTR!!!! and i saw Teri again for the first time in FOREVER AND EVER! Since last summer i think. I find it funny that students who have never been in Ms. Mahar's class still call her ms mahar, even tho technically she's mrs schneider (or something).

There's construction going on at my house. Apparently the family room wasn't big enough for my mom, and apparently we didn't have enough kitchens either. She also wanted another closet in her room. So now if you step out of any of the doors that lead to out backyard, you will fall into a big pit. Eventually, the family room will be longer, there will be a new kitchen in the basement (and also a media room), the current kitchen will be moved closer to the backyard, and i will lose one window in my bedroom T_T Which means i'm going to have to take down all (or half if i'm lucky) of the things on my wall and move a bunch of furniture and my computer to the guest room, where it will not fit because there is barely enough room in there for the bed as it is (the bed that's already in the guest room. i have no idea what's going to happen to the bed in my room).

gah! and what is up with this navigator window! STOP GETTING WIDER!!

Um...tomorrow we're going back to ann arbor for a graduation thing (taimour's brother tehmasp).

Me, 'waqisha', aryan and munim just saw Silent Hill. I was dissatisfied with the ending, but it wasn't a bad movie. i would have preferred to see V for Vendetta again tho :D I've never played the game, so i don't know how the movie was compared to it, but it did have an interesting plot. it wasn't really scary; i was more creeped out by The Grudge.

Oh, and i don't have an internet connection in my room, and the computer that does have one is on the other side of the house from the tv and kitchen, so i probably won't be coming online as often as i need to, unless i find the wireless thing for my computer...*wonders where it went*

full lunge

I just got back from Mrs Field's, and i bought a slice of cookie cake, 2 chocolate chip cookies, milk, and a fudge brownie, and the guy put in all the leftover walnut chocolate chip mini-cookies for free--so the next time i go there, i'll have to remember to get there 10 minutes before it closes again :D

Monday was my last english 239 class, and the professor brought in a huge container of brownies she'd made, which was incredibly sweet of her and now i think i'll actually miss her, despite the fact that she made the class ridiculously hard for 3 credits. I also had my last ever Chem215 lecture with JP--and he had us play Jeopardy as a review, which was so sweet of him! He was an awesome lecturer, and always acted like the class was 1/100th the size it really was. AND i had my last Chem216 lab! I'm going to miss the girls in it and the GSI Aydin, because he'd always take my comic and start reading it and then talk about how unexpected it was to see me reading something so creepy. (the sandman comics, and Hellsing manga) and then Ashley and Megan would start laughing about the fact that he was reading my books. Those girls are so sweet :) When we were leaving, Ashley was saying she'd miss everyone in the class and I said we'd probably see everyone at some point since we're all science people, and when we had to go in different directions, i was like "...have a good life!" and she gave a sad laugh. lol it felt like the end of high school except much less emotional.

This evening was my first exam (Chem 216). Now only one exam left, the UROP Symposium tomorrow, and 2 papers. My mom's coming over saturday night to spend the night and help me pack, then sunday my dad and brother are coming over to carry everything to the cars. Lol it should be fun. I'm going to make them go to Sushi.come because i am ADDICTED! 3 times in the last month! But oh it is so good.

2 girls got stuck in our elevator today. As if that thing wasn't creepy enough, it now decided to just not stop at any floor and keep going up and down without ever opening its doors and letting those poor girls out. We could hear them through the wall. This is the elevator that everyone will be using to move out too....
Gah! There is something wrong with this window or with lj bcos as i keep typing, the window keeps getting wider and wider and the little scrollbar at the bottom of the page gets longer and i have to scroll to see this whole entry and it's driving me crazy!
These cookies are yummy.
That is all.

wheee update!
Ring of steel was soooo much fun on tuesday! probably mostly because Amanda was there and i had forgotten how much fun that is. something happened to my left hand and it started shaking and wouldn't stop until this morning after my english class was over. i was telling Natalie that ring was fun because amanda was there, and she said in this tone like she was humoring 6-yr old, "you know, an imaginary friend can be there whenever you want her to be." :D and i'll stop myself from going into a ramble of everything that happened at ring.

Me and natalie were at starbucks at some point, and here are some resulting quotes:
N: Stop torturing the highlighter!
A: It can't feel anymore, it's dead!
N: How would you feel if someone was torturing your grandmother's corpse?
A: But it's not your grandmother, it's a highlighter! And you killed it!
(later)
A: We could throw it on the floor.
N: You're SADISTIC!
A: We can throw it on the floor and step on it...
N: You're not helping your case.
And then around closing time, they started playing this terrible music.
one song went, "Oh baby....it's time to learn...portugese." and i guess it was supposed to be seductive but uh...it failed lololotr.
another song had this singer who wasn't bad at all, but he'd suddenly make these weird noises in his song...and natalie spelled it out best: Oooowawawawaquaqua quack quack quack.

ok i give up, i can't not rant about ring. so i'll put it in a
so we were doing point-control drills, which was basically holding a rapier out and making circles with the tip, for a painfully long time in each hand, and after we broke off to do something else, my right arm was tired so i switched the rapier to my left one, but suddenly i realised that my hand was shaking, very uncontrollably., and it was making the whole rapier shake, and amanda held the tip of it and said she could feel the shaking through her arm and it was kinda cool, then she called over some other ppl to feel the tip, and i started laughing uncontrollably, and had my hand over my face, and master lipka went next to my ear and said, "you can laugh and hide behind your hand, but we all know where you are."
and then my hand wouldn't stop shaking, and amanda started getting worried and said i could be having a stroke or a heart attack bcos it was my left hand.
then we were playing with staffs, i mean learning how to use them, and me and amanda started hitting each other and each other's staffs, and then theo came over and seperated us!!! he made me walk to the other side of the room, and me and amanda couldn't function anymore :( lololotr.
and then we were trying to learn/remember the fight we were working on, and peter was being impatient and picky, and then amanda made him go away and as he was walking away she motioned to him and made a "he's crazy" gesture and pulled a face, and then she realised he was looking at her in the mirror :D:D and he ran back and amanda said "it was her!" :D and at another point we did something wrong in the fight and peter was about to take amanda's sword to show her the right way to do it, but she was sick of him taking her shiny away so she held it behind her back so he couldn't take it before he could reach for it, teehee, like little kids do. and more funniness happened.

() Rocky Horror Picture Show
(1) Grease
(2) Pirates of the Caribbean
() Boondock Saints
() The Mexican
(3) Fight Club
(4) Starsky and Hutch
(5) Neverending Story
() Blazing Saddles
(6) Airplane
Section 1: 6/10

(7) The Princess Bride
(8) Young Frankenstein
(9) AnchorMan: The Legend of Ron Burgundy
(10) Napoleon Dynamite
() Saw
() White Noise
() White Oleander
(11) Anger Management
(12) 50 First Dates
() Jason X
Section 2: 6/10

() Scream
() Scream 2
() Scream 3
() Scary Movie
(13) Scary Movie 2
() Scary Movie 3
() American Pie
() American Pie 2
() American Wedding
(14) Harry Potter
Section 3: 2/10

(15) Harry Potter 2
(16) Harry Potter 3
(17) Harry Potter 4
() Resident Evil I
() Resident Evil 2
(18) The Wedding Singer
() Little Black Book
(19) The Village
(20) Donnie Darko
() Lilo &
On friday, Natalie's best friend Ian (pronounced Yaan) drove over from kentucky and we went to NYPD to eat, and then watched Cruel Intentions in my room until about 4am, by which time i was at the point where anything was funny and i couldn't stop laughing. Favorite quote from the movie: "I am Mr. Smith." :D:D
Yesterday Ian drove us to the mall and we bought stuff, then we saw Ice Age 2! It was really good, but not quite as great as the first. It had its moments tho. The best parts were the ones with Scratch, of course.
Oh! And there was this little kid sitting behind us in the theater, and when we first sat down i turned around and asked him if he could see and whether we were in his way, and he said no, so we didn't move, and he was sitting alone at the time and looked about 5. After his dad came back, the previews were on and this little kid started swearing! He was like, "What the hell is this?" at some preview, and then i think he dropped something and he said "Damn!" and i was like...what a terrible father.
Qoute from yesterday: "I have four in my head. Do you want one?" Try to guess what i was referring to! Heheheh
Then we went to this liquor store because today is Ian's 21st birthday, and they bought 5 mini bottles of different drinks. The guy at the store reminded them of Robert DeNiro :D and he had this accent and he kept recommending different mini bottles; it was entertaining.
Then we went to natalie's room to dye parts of our hair. Natalie cut parts of her hair into shorter bangs and dyed them red, and she's going to add black dye later, and i had purple dye for a small section of the front of my hair, and i was working dye into it for like 10 minutes--just kept adding and adding and adding, and then after 30 minutes i washed it out (that took 10 minutes too) but my hair wasn't purple! :(:(:( It didn't even shine purple in the light, and even the one white hair that was in that section didn't get dyed purple! It's like, the faintest purple but mostly white. So today/tonight i'm going to try it again...perhaps there was still shampoo left in my hair from when we had to wash it before adding dye...le sigh.
hopefully we're getting sushi today. :)

We just saw Thank You For Smoking!!! GREATEST MOVIE EVER! Or one of the. It was free because we have Borders Rewards cards and every Tuesday till the end of April we get to see free movies at the Michigan Theater.

Anyway, on to what everyone came here for--QUOTES!

"The great state of Vermont will not apologise for its cheese!"
"No non-smoker could have survived the amount of nicotine that was in your body. I can't believe I'm saying this...but cigarettes saved your life."
Smoking representative person while talking to class of students: "If your parents told you that chocolate was bad for you, would you just take their word for it? "No!" "So that's what I mean--you should find out for yourselves!"
"Actually, the guys at the company liked 'Merchants of Death'. We're having bumper stickers made."
"Please don't destroy my childhood."
(about a slice of pie with cheese on it) "That's disguisting." "It's American."
*scene of man whose job is poaching baby seals* *Man with club and baby seal in hand smiles at camera* *Man with club and baby seal raises club and begins to club baby seal* *Camera fortuitously cuts away as theater audience erupts*
"Jeff, when do you sleep??" "Sunday."
"You know that guy that can pick up any girl? I'm that guy on crack."

So there's like one funny quote for every 5 minutes of the movie. That was an enticing selection so go see the movie!!

*searches mind for more updates*
Um...anyone want a hint on how to find my "hidden link"? :P
